Abraham's servant's prayer February 18th, 2010
Genesis 24:12-14

12 Then he prayed, "O LORD, God of my master Abraham, give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham. 13 See, I am standing beside this spring, and the daughters of the townspeople are coming out to draw water. 14 May it be that when I say to a girl, 'Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,' and she says, 'Drink, and I'll water your camels too' let her be the one you have chosen for you servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master."
In Isaac's prayer he asked God to provide him with a wife. He was looking for God's guidance and wisdom. I've looked for God's guidance a lot this past year. The year has been so full of tests of faith for me. I've asked many many times why me? Why my family? Why does one bad thing after another keep happening to us? How am I ever going to get through this? And why God are you doing this to the ones I love? Someone told me God never gives you more than you can handle. Well through the power of many prayer, the support of friends and family and mostly because of God's steadfast love we have survived 2009 and have so many things to be thankful for. We have a beautiful granddaughter, my parents are well and my husband still by my side. Our road will continue to have bumps but with God's love and the love of my family, we too like Isaac will have our prayers answered.
Dear God please continue to guide and support all of us through life's trials and tribulations. Without your steadfast love we would be lost. Amen
