Jesus’ prayer
March 20, 2010
And forgive us our
sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
Matthew 6:12.
If we confess our sins,
He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.
We can be so thankful that we have such a loving God, that He sent His only Son,
Jesus Christ, down here into His creation to die on the cross for us.
We deserve damnation and God knows we are lost without Him, so He came to
die on the cross in our place. He
took all our sins, past, present and future in Him as He died on that cross.
What we must do to receive eternal life with Him, is to acknowledge that we are
sinners, ask for forgiveness and repent.
Believe in Him and He will forgive, but we must also forgive everyone who
sins against us. For is we don’t
forgive, He will not forgive us.
As it says in Mark 11:25, make sure you don’t hold a grudge against anyone.
We must not judge others, but make allowance for each other’s faults and forgive
anyone who offends us. Remember the
Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13.
Above all, clothe yourself with God’s love, which binds us together in perfect
harmony and let the peace of God rule in your hearts.
Colossians 3:14-15.
Lord, forgive me and help me to always be ready to forgive others and not judge,
or hold any grudge against anyone.
I pray for the Church, that we show love to one another and not to be offended,
but always ready to forgive, as you forgive us.
Bind the Church together in unity and love and help us spread your word
of love, grace and forgiveness to help those who don’t know you, to come to know
you as their Savior. Amen
